Following up on Boeing President and Chief Executive Jim McNerney’s question-and-answer session with analysts Wednesday, FlightBlogger noted that McNerney talked as if a redo of the 777 was a certainty.
In responding to a question about the next narrow-body jet, McNerney said airframe development may dictate whether Boeing or Airbus goes first with a new plane and when, and brought the 777 into the discussion.
“Lord knows we’ve learned the hard way how to on design and build composites,” he said. “Eventually that’s going to pay off for us, and its really going to pay off when we do, redo, the 777, and when we take a look at the narrow-body.”
