Boeing 787 to complete certification testing for the Trent-1000 powered version of the airplane

Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO, Jim Albaugh speaking at the Jefferies conference said that the 787 just has 24 hour more flight testing left to be done to complete certification testing for the Trent-1000 powered version of the airplane. Boeing expects to receive type certification for the 787 sometime next week and plans to deliver the first 787, ZA101, to ANA next month.

Airbus to push back the entry of 2 future versions of its A350 XWB

Airbus has decided to push back by two years the entry into service of two future versions of its long-range A350-900 XWB, a wide-bodied aircraft that it plans to start delivering to customer airlines in late 2015, according to a report to be published in Friday’s edition of La Tribune.

First 10 ANA Pilots Complete Boeing 787 Pilot Training

Boeing and ANA have completed pilot training in Seattle, WA, for the first airline crews who will fly the 787 Dreamliner. Ten ANA pilots concluded their training after each pilot performed flights in ZA001 – the first 787 flight test airplane – over Washington state. These initial crews to go through training are ANA’s senior training pilots and check airmen and will conduct both simulator and airplane line training for ANA in Japan. They will be the first pilots on 787 commercial flights for ANA.

First landing gear for Airbus A350XWB delivered to Airbus

Airbus has received the initial main landing gear set for its A350 XWB, which is to be installed on the jetliner’s system test rig – along with the first nose landing gear received last month from Filton, UK. This upcoming industrial milestone will clear the way for testing to demonstrate the system’s reliability and maturity, and also provide data for certification – particularly in the areas of extension-retraction, braking and steering.
